About the School Nurse

Ms. Denise Osolin
My name is Denise Osolin, RN and I am the school nurse here at LMES. With your help, I am excited to make this a healthy and successful school year! It is important for your child to get enough rest each night so they can do their best during the school day and to eat a nutritious breakfast every morning. It is also very important to encourage students to wash their hands often to help prevent any unwanted germs.
A few notes about the health room:
As the school nurse, I have the opportunity to help manage chronic health conditions, assess for illnesses, and treat acute injuries that happen at school. Injuries or health concerns that occur outside of school should be treated at home or by your healthcare provider. The school nurse cannot diagnose or prescribe treatment and old injuries can only be treated with a physician's order (including ice).
All medications will be stored in the health room. If your child needs to take any medication (prescription, over-the-counter, cough drops, anti-itch creams, etc.) please drop it off to the health room or front office. Please do not send children to school with medicine for safety reasons. All medications need to have a Permission for School Administration of Medication form completed by parent/guardian and health care provider (if it's a prescriptive medicine). You can pick up the form at school or retrieve it from: Health Room Medication Form
Our school district follows the DHEC guidelines for school exclusions. The DHEC school exclusion list provides information as to when to keep your child home and when it is safe to send your child back after an illness.
